Corey Todd Taylor, (born December 8, 1973 in Des Moines, Iowa) sometimes known by his number #8,[1] is an American musician best known as the vocalist of American heavy metal band Slipknot and the American hard rock band Stone Sour.[2] Taylor was raised by his single mother. He developed a fond feeling toward classic rock after his grandmother introduced him to it. Taylor first met his father on March 28, 2005, and the two have developed a strong relationship. He currently has a wife, an ex-wife, and two children. By the release of Stone Sour's Come What(ever) May, he was non-indulgent. On August 3, 2009 and July 29, 2010 he co-hosted the Kerrang! Awards alongside Scott Ian of Anthrax and The Damned Things.
James Donald "Jim" Root (born October 2, 1971), also known by his number #4, is an American musician known for being the rhythm and lead guitarist in Slipknot, and the lead guitarist, backing vocalist for Stone Sour. He was the last member to join the current line-up of Slipknot, in January 1999. James Root has performed in bands such as Anal Blast, Atomic Opera, Da Nast Beat Krew, Deadfront and Stone Sour; the latter which he joined in 1995, and returned to along with vocalist Corey Taylor, during its revival in 2002. Prior to joining Slipknot, he worked as a screenprinter, waiter, and busboy. Root joined the band in January 1999, replacing their original guitarist, Josh Brainard, who left the band during the recording of their self-titled album, reportedly after having fulfilled his recording duties.
Mickael "Mick" Thomson, sometimes known as #7, is an American musician, best known as being the lead and rhythm guitarist for the Grammy winning metal band Slipknot.Thomson joined Slipknot in 1997, replacing the band's guitarist, Craig Jones, who then became the band's sampler. Thomson expresses his pseudonym, "#7", more than most members of Slipknot. For example, as well as being credited with the number in the liner notes of albums he has recorded, he also has the word "seven" tattooed on his left arm, and features the word "seven" on the designs all of his custom Ibanez guitars, and on all of his Ibanez MTM1's, as well as his signiature acoustic by Ovation. Outside Slipknot, Thomson has taught guitar lessons at Ye Olde Guitar Shoppe, a local music shop in Des Moines, up until 1999. And has appeared on Malevolent Creation's album Doomsday X. He also made a guest appearance in the music video for Lupara's "No Pity on the Ants".
Nathan Jonas Jordison (born April 26, 1975), sometimes known by his number #1, but better known by his stage name Joey Jordison, is an American musician, songwriter, and record producer. He is a co-founder and the primary drummer for the Grammy Award-winning heavy metal band Slipknot, the guitarist and backup-vocalist for the Murderdolls and the current drummer for Rob Zombie. While growing up in Des Moines, Iowa, Jordison quickly developed an interest in music, learning to play the guitar and drums. Jordison joined multiple bands throughout his high school years, which led to him be invited to join The Pale Ones, at age 20. Jordison immediately embraced the idea and quickly became involved in all aspects of the band, which evolved into Slipknot.
